.\" @(#)tk3270.1 1.0 6/27/86 .TH TK3270 1 "6/27/86" .ds ]W UCB Computer Center .SH NAME tk3270 \- provide Tektronix 4014 graphics support for tn3270 in suntools environment .SH SYNOPSIS .B tk3270 [ generic tool arguments ] .SH DESCRIPTION .I Tk3270 provides graphics support for .IR tn3270 . Graphics programs on the remote host that output Tektronix 401X graphics commands in the Yale ASCII Terminal Communication System II transparent output mode will work with the .I tn3270/tk3270 combination. .PP To use .IR tk3270 , specify .I tk3270 as the .I tn3270 transparent mode .I transcom command. .PP When .I tn3270 receives transparent mode output, .I tk3270 will start up, generating a child process that reinvokes .I tk3270 in the .I tektool environment (see .IR tektool (1)). The two processes communicate via the files /tmp/tkiXXXXXX and /tmp/tkoXXXXXX, where XXXXXX is the process id of the parent .B tk3270 process. While Yale transparent mode is active, all terminal input and output occurs in the .I tektool window. When transparent mode ends, the .I tk3270 processes stop, and the .I tektool window is ended. Terminal input and output then reverts to the original window running .IR tn3270 . .PP Generic tool arguments may be specified to control .I tektool window characteristics (see .IR tektool (1)). .SH FILES /tmp/tkiXXXXXX input from tektool window .br /tmp/tkoXXXXXX output to tektool window .SH SEE ALSO tn3270(1), suntools(1), tektool(1)
