[This file is ./DVIware/laser-setters/mctex/NOTE-for-TeXPS-users.
It is intended for users for the UNIX TeX distribution.
 July 1990.]

Users of TeXPS -- if the installation of the dviselect program
is all you are interested in:

	% cd lib

	% emacs Makefile	[Edit to suit your site;
				 attend to fontdesc path.

If you do not have a fontdesc file:

				    % cd ../misc

				    % cp fontdesc /usr/local/lib/tex/fontdesc

or to whatever directory you wish.

				    % emacs /usr/local/lib/tex/fontdesc

to suit your site: declare what kinds of
fonts you have on your system, their
location, and how to search for them.

The "%f" stands for the fontname
					(e.g., "cmr10" or "cmsy7").

The "%m" stands for the value of
					magnification (e.g., "300").

Be sure that the paths you define in this
				fontdesc file accurately reflect
the organization of fonts on your machine.
Attend carefully to the use of "%f" and "%m"
				in the default settings.]

% make all [To make lib.a]

	% cd ../dvi

% emacs Makefile	[Edit to suit your site.]

% make all [To make dviselect & its companion
				 program dviconcat.]

Place dviselect and dviconcat into your BINDIR.

Type "rehash," or whatever, to make these programs available to you.

Man-pages: see ./dvi/dviconcat.1 and dviselect.1.
