.TH ITBIT 1 7/26/86 .UC 4 .SH NAME itbit \- IS68K bitmap to TeX using \especial commands .SH SYNOPSIS .B itbit \%[\-m] < \fIinfile\fR > \fIoutfile\fR .PP .B itbit \fIfile.b\fR .SH DESCRIPTION The \fIitbit\fR program takes a bitmap in the IS68K graphics workstation format and prepares a file for inclusion in a TeX job. Basically, a box called \fI\egraph\fR is created containing the bitmap. .PP If the `\-m' option is given, then \fIitbit\fR assumes the input file contains an icon and will prepare only the icon's mask for TeX processing (which is normally what is desired). .SH "SEE ALSO" tpic(l), up(1) .SH DIAGNOSTICS Obvious. .SH BUGS Owing to numerous deficiences in TeX's design and implementation, it is not possible to include the actual bitmap inside the file produced by \fIitbit\fR. Instead, \fIitbit\fR includes a pointer to the bitmap file instead. This means that when the DVI file is post\-processed (e.g., by a TeX previewer such as \fIxdvi\fR or by the spooling system) that the bitmap file must exist and be readable by the post\-processor.
