                                  MIPS

This test was given by Bill Joy a night on a boat sailing between
Helsinki and Stockholm, after a violent pinball game. It consists
in the calculus with dc of the 99th first decimals of square root
of 2. A similar test (made by John Lions) exists in the original
MUSBUS. It is easy to run (on-line benchmark) and the user time
is considered as significant,at a first raw approximation, of the
CPU speed. The value of "mips" given by this test is pretty good
compared with marketing mips (or VAX 11/780 mips).
