Content ------- This is TeXPS release.info file describing releases 3.1 to and including 3.9. For questions, comments, etc., see the documentation or the README file. Changes since release 3.0 ------------------------- Changes release 3.1 ------------------- 1. There was a serious bug in dvitps/src/fonts.c which caused a problem with font substitution if all four font file types pxl, pdr, gf and pk are used. this is fixed. 2. Version number of pfd2tfm changed to 3.1 (February 23, 1990). 3. Version number of dvitps changed to 3.1 (February 23, 1990). 4. Added a 'make quick-clean' to the top level directory. 5. Fixed a bug in setup-lib/setup-ld.awk which did not allow for local definitions in local-defs which had more than one field. 6. Improved the documentation of local-defs. 7. Extended local-defs so that there are now two separate commands for printing source code and PostScript files. 8. Default paper size specification has been fixed and cleaned up. 9. Paper format A4 has been added. 10. Changed dependencies in the Makefile of the documentation subdirectory. Before certain parts of the documentation were never up to date. 11. Fixed up the X11.3 window screen dump. The distributed file was a binary file which cannot be handled by my configuration software. X11.4 is not yet supported. 12. Tpic documentation improved: included a message by Tim Morgan into the documentation. 13. Some SYS V incompatabilities were taken care of. Changes release 3.2 ------------------- 1. Documentation: two minor changes (date, front page and processing of prel.dvi) 2. sup/tokprep: installation command changed. Changes release 3.3 -------------------- 1. dvitps: major clean up work for lint to produce less output. 2. dvitps: it was sending out an extra prologue file if the -z option was used (under rather specific circumstances). This has been fixed now. 3. dvitps: improved documentation of many procedures. Changed handling of skipping of fonts in pass0.c and pass1.c. Needed for correct handling of gftodvi. 4. dvitps: cleaned up some stuff about character string handling (see in particular pos.c and send2.c) which made the driver blow up when used with gftodvi generated dvi files. 5. dvitps: prints version number 3.3, as of April 17, 1990. Changes release 3.4 -------------------- 1. Added option -n to pfd2tfm so now the forking off of pltotf can be suppressed (instead the property list file is saved) 2. Other small changes. Changes release 3.5 ------------------- 1. Fixed a problem in dvitps (direction: reverse, use of -z option) 2. Now supports two installations on one machine, instead of only one Read top level makefile, if interested. Otherwise ignore. 3. The IMakefile of directory doc contained an error in that PLTOTF was not handed properly. 4. lib/exf.c: check for nonsense characters in file names relaxed. 5. Changed documentation. All macros from book "TeX in Practice" have now file extension .tip 6. Error in pfd2tfm fixed which showed up when a character which was removed by instruction in the pfd file was in the kerning information in the afm file. Changes release 3.6 ------------------- 1. Fixed up missing included file fonts-la.tex in the documentation. 2. Fixed up printpdr to include the proper files when invoked with the -i option. Changes release 3.7 ------------------- 1. pfd2tfm / use of pltotf cleaned up 2. pltotf: changed, now has an exit(0) at the end of the main program which makes it execute properly on the SUN 386i now. Please note: IF you use your owm version of pltotf AND if you run pltotf on a 386i or a MicroVax I recommend using MY version of pltotf (that is the version coming with this release.) 3. Documentation: cleaned up a couple of macro calls. 4. Added a directory "tests" for any type of tests which seem to be useful at one point or another. Changes release 3.8 ------------------- 1. doc: minor change in Makefile. 2. Preparing to hunt down a rather nasty error on some machines. Changes release 3.8 ------------------- 1. Some macro names changed. 2. New tpic version now supported. Keep your fingers crossed that it works. Important Notice ---------------- PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT CHANGE THIS FILE AT ALL.
