.SH NAME
xtwd \- X window dump to TeX using \especial commands
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B xtwd
\fIfile.xwd\fR
.SH DESCRIPTION
The \fIxtwd\fR program takes a window dump in the X windows raster image
format and prepares a file for inclusion in a TeX job.
Basically,
a box called \fI\egraph\fR is created containing a pointer to the dump.
.SH "SEE ALSO"
tpic(l), xwd(1), xtbit(l)
.SH DIAGNOSTICS
Obvious.
.SH BUGS
Owing to numerous deficiences in TeX's design and implementation,
it is not possible to include the actual window dump inside the file produced
by \fIxtwd\fR.
Instead, \fIxtwd\fR includes a pointer to the dump file instead.
This means that when the DVI file is post\-processed
(e.g., by a TeX previewer such as \fIxdvi\fR or by the spooling system)
that the dump file must exist and be readable by the post\-processor.
