B is a batch system

- the scheduling strategy is last in first out
- in day time B may be removed due to basic software development
TEM is a terminal access module offering terminal multiplexing (a number of
terminals form a group) and terminal spooling via backing storage.
- different sorts of terminal access protocols may be supported by tem
(at present tty, format-8000 and "transparent mode")
