you are now running a rc8000 serviced by the operating system modules:

                           SOS, B, TEM and PRIMO
the rc8000 is only accessible during day time. The rc8000 is reserved
for software/hardware development on mondays and wednesdays between
8 and 12. B may be removed without warning.

SOS is a swopping online system primarily running interactive jobs
        - a number of jobs share the same piece of primary store (on time
          sharing basis).
        - the jobs may only make direct access to fast equipment like backing
storage, magnetic tape and floppy discs.
        - terminals are accessed indirectly via sos and eventually via tem
        - printers are accessed via primo

B is a batch system
        - a number of jobs share the same piece of primary store
        - the scheduling strategy is last in first out
        - in day time B may be removed due to basic software development

TEM is a terminal access module offering terminal multiplexing (a number of
terminals form a group) and terminal spooling via backing storage.
        - different sorts of terminal access protocols may be supported by tem
(at present tty, format-8000 and "transparent mode")

PRIMO is a file router module offering file transfer to line printers,
tape readers, tape punches, card readers, and terminal readers
        - including facilities for transfer queueing, transfer inquiery and
          operator communication.
