                 OA I TO OA II BUSINESS CARD CONVERT

     This Programmer program was designed to take your OA I CARD.DB3 file
over to OA II CARDSPI.DB3. Some editting may be required after the
conversion since the LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME, AND MIDDLE are parsed from the
CARD.DB3 file. This program will create a text file CRDREJ.TXT listing all
the records with obvious parsing problems so you can easily find the records
which need editing. You can create a CRDCVT.CND file using CRDBAT and
CRD.ARR.

1. Examine your CARD.DB3 file in OA I. Write down what is the
   typical type of data in your  ADD1, ADD2, ADD3, ADD4, ADD5
   fields. Examples:

      ADD1 = LAST, FIRST, MI,           ADD1 = COMPANY NAME
      ADD2 = ADDRESS                    ADD2 = LAST, FIRST, MI
      ADD3 = CITY, STATE, ZIP           ADD3 = ADDRESS
      ADD4 = COMPANY                    ADD4 = CITY, STATE, ZIP
      ADD5 =                            ADD5 = ATTRIBUTE

2. Execute DB3-->DF/IF Convert from OA II utilities menu.
   CONVERT CARD.DB3 TO CARD.DF and CARD.IF files
   WARNING: DONT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE FILE ON CONVERSION.

3. Press <desk> and select Business Cards, Press <do> to create an
   empty CARDSPI.DF/IF file for the new card file. Note: this
   is not neccessary if it already exists. The conversion will add to
   the CARDSPI.DF/IF file.

4. Enter the Database and select Browse, enter CARDS.DF. If there are
   blank entries, delete them (<line_del>)."

5. Execute CRDCVT (.TXT or .CND) program using perform in Programmer.
   If you are not familiar with the Programmer Module run the Tutorial.

6. Go into the <desk> Notepad and examine CRDREJ.TXT. This will contain a
   list of Names which had something wrong. The field name may be too
   long and was truncated and you may wish to edit the field which was too
   long Names which didnt parse completely to fit the LAST, FIRST, MIDDLE
   or FIRST, MIDDLE, LAST will also be listed.
   You may edit the fields using the <desk> Business Cards or the Database
   Print the CRDREJ.TXT file to your printer, if your like."
