Plink-II: PSA Object Module Linkage Editor II
          Update for Version 1.08 - (5/30/81)

                              Update for Version 1.08

This note lists Plink-II bug fixes and enhancements effective
          with version 1.08.

          Bug Fixes:

            - If more than 35 overlays were used in a program a message
"OVERLAY LOAD DISK ERROR" would appear when the extra
overlays were loaded. Now up to 255 overlays may be used as
              stated in the user manual.

            - In previous versions of Plink-II, files of the same name on
different disks (e.g. A:FOO.REL, B:FOO.REL) were treated as
different files. This caused problems for some users, so
version 1.08 now treats these as the same file name and gives
              an error message.

            - The FILE, SEGMENT, and MODULE statements would not put the
segments of the program into sections in the specified order.
This has been fixed. Also, segments put into a .DATA.
section are now always in input order.

            - CONCATENATED segments are no longer placed by default into a
              .DATA. section.

          New Features:

            - Plink-II now uses random disk I/O calls when running under
operating systems that support them. A large increase in
              speed usually results.

            - Whitesmiths C compiler rel files may now be linked and
overlaid along with any other supported file types. The
run-time-support librarys CLIB.A and MLIB.A must be present
on disk and are searched automatically. The C program header
file CHDR.R is also automatically included in the program.
The free memory symbol _MEMORY is set to the .END. address
(see the FREEMEMORY statement). Remember that Plink-II
assumes a default file type of ".REL" for input files, so it
is convenient to specify that type when using the compiler
rather than ".R". Local symbols put into the .R file for
              debugging purposes are not supported.
