   dump(8) utility, with the parameters:
backuplevel - flags - backup target - volume name
   where 'flags' are
u - log of date and level
   n - operator notify
   r - rewind
   v - verify
   l - autoload
   s - tape length
   c - tape capacity
   b - blocksize
   d - density
   f - backup target
F1:enter the volume name.
Enter the name of the logical volume you want to backup.
The volume can be specified in one of the following ways:
   - full path name of the volume e.g. /dev/lvusr
   - volume name without the '/dev/' prefix e.g. lvusr
   - file system name with leading '/' e.g. /usr
   - label of the volume, e.g. usr.

The CHOICE key will display a list of volumes containing file systems.
F2:enter the backup level.
Enter the backup level as an integer between 0 and 9. Level 0 is the
entire filesystem. Level 1 is all changes since the last level 0
backup, level 2 is all changes since the last level 1 backup, and so
   forth, up to level 9.
F3:enter the type of tape.
The type of tape must be
1: 1/2 inch standard reel tape -RC9255- or
2: 1/4 inch cartridge streamer tape -RC9260- or
3: 8 mm cartrigde tape (EXABYTE) -RC9270- or
4: 1/2 inch cartridge streamer tape (CIPHER) -RC9265-.

1 and 4 use the IPI channel. 2 and 3 use the SCSI interface.
m1:Set Volume and Level and Tape type.
   In this menu you may

     - enter the name of the logical volume you want to backup.

     - enter the backup level as an integer between 0 and 9.
Level 0 is the entire filesystem. Level 1 is all
changes since the last level 0 backup, level 2
is all changes since the last level 1 backup, and so
       forth, up to level 9.

     - enter the type, which must be one of the following:
1: 1/2 inch standard reel tape -RC9255- or
2: 1/4 inch cartridge streamer tape -RC9260- or
3: 8 mm cartridge tape (EXABYTE) -RC9270- or
4: 1/2 inch cartridge streamer tape (CIPHER) -RC9265-.
m21:Set Start time for Periodic Backups.
In this menu you may set the start time for the backup job and
insert the job in the queue for periodic backups.
m22:Set Start time for Queued backups.
In this menu you may set the start time for the backup job and
insert the job in the queue for queued backups.
m23:start backup now.
This selection allows you to start the dump job now with he
   current parameters.
m3:list of supplementary parameters.
Use this menu if you want to see a list of the supplementary
   parameters and their settings.
m4:change of supplementary parameters.
Enter this menu if you want to change one or more of the supplementary
   parameters.
F11:start backup now.
Enter 'yes' if you want to start the dump job now with the
   current parameters.
reel:F1:enter tape device node.
This parameter is the target for the backup and must have the type:
magnetic tape. If you want to use another type, e.g. a file, it will
be necessary to use the backup utility directly.
reel:F2:operator notify.
Enter 'yes' if you want that members of the group 'operator'
to be notified whenever 'backup' requires operator intervention.
Enter 'no' if you don't want notification.
reel:F3:rewind tape.
Enter 'yes' if you want the tape to be rewound when the backup is
complete. Enter 'no' if you don't want any rewinding. No rewind is
   the default.
reel:F4:save date and backup level.
Enter 'yes' if you want to save the date and the level of the backup.
This is the default. It is only possible to save one date per level.
'no' means that date and level are not saved.
reel:F5:verify tape after backup.
If you enter 'yes' it will be verified that the tape can be read and
that the tape contains the same number of blocks as the files being
dumped. Enter 'no' for no verification. This is the default.
reel:F6:set tape block size.
Enter the number of kilobytes per tape block. (min 1, max 64).
   The default value is 32.
reel:F7:set tape density.
Enter the tape density in BPI (1600 or 6250). The density is used to
calculate the tape used per reel and to set the write density on the
   tape drive. 6250 is default.
reel:F8:set tape length.
Enter the tape length in feet. On reaching the specified size, the
operator is notified, and the program waits till the reels have been
changed. 2300 feet is the default.
scci:F1:enter tape device node.
This parameter is the target for the backup and must have the type:
magnetic tape. If you want to use another type, e.g. a file, it will
be necessary to use the backup utility directly.
