The INITIOA program is intended for use during system installation by
Rational Support Personel. To invoke the INITIOA program type:

    CLI> x initioa

The program will repond by asking several questions:

    Enter CLUSTER ID [<current_id>] :

If the <current_id> is not correct, enter the correct CLUSTER_ID. If
the <current_id> is correct simply type <cr> to retain it.

When running on a Model 100 R1000 processor, the next question will be for
the remote phone number as below:

Enter phone number to be used for remote diagnostics.
Include all PBX codes required to gain outside access.
The following characters may be imbedded at any point :
W => Wait for dial tone.
        D => Pause 3 seconds.
P => Subsequent digits are pulse dialed
T => Subsequent digits are tone dialed (DTMF).
        - => No effect, used for clarity only.

    Enter phone number [<current-phone-number>] :

The phone number is a character string which contains embedded characters
to inform the modem about the installation site's phone system.

    Example:
The actual phone number is 800-555-1212
A PBX is in use which requires entering a "9" to gain outside
    access.
The site uses a third party phone network like "SPRINT" or "MCI"
which is accessed by dialing 800-123-4567. The site's access code
    to this network is 121212.
If a person were making this phone call he/she would do the following:

1.) wait for the PBX dial tone
        2.) dial "9".
3.) wait for the local phone systems dial tone.
4.) dial 800-123-4567 to gain access to the 3rd party network.
        5.) wait for a tone.
6.) enter the access code "121212"
7.) wait for a dial tone.
8.) dial 800-555-1212 to finally contact Rational.

The modem can be instructed to do nearly the same thing. The only
difference would be step 5. The modem cannot wait for a tone but
instead it can be instructed to wait until it is certain that the
tone has happened. The modems instructions might look like this:

        W9W8001234567DDD121212W8005551212

To make this look more legible we can insert "-" characters. These
are ignored by the modem. A more legible set of instructions might
    be:

        W-9-W-800-123-4567-DDD-121212-W-800-555-1212

When running on a Model 200/300C/300S R1000 processor, after setting the
CLUSTER ID, the program will ask for the connection type:

Diagnostic connection may be made either via the internal modem or X.25 PAD.
   For internal modem specify "M"
   For X.25 PAD specify "X"
Enter PAD connection type [d] :

where [d] is the current setting of the CONNECTION TYPE. If the user enters
M (for modem), the program will then ask for the phone number (as above) then
end. If the user specifies X (for X.25-PAD),the program will next ask for
the remote diagnostic DNIC:

   Enter remote diagnostic X.25 DNIC [<current_dnic>] :

If the <current_dnic> is not correct, enter the correct DNIC. If
the <current_dnic> is correct simply type <cr> to retain it. The current
DNIC is 310690437600. For some foreign PDN's, this may need to be preceded by
other characters e.g. 0 for Switzerland, consult your local carrier for any
special requirements.

The program will next ask for the TYMNET password:

   Enter TYMNET password [<current_password>] :

If the <current_passowrd> is not correct, enter the correct password.
If the <current_password> is correct simply type <cr> to retain it.
Consult your RATIONAL Technical Representative for the correct password.
After entering the password, the program will ask for the AUTODIAL command:

Enter AUTODIAL command for far end connection to RATIONAL.
Enter AUTODIAL command [<AD string>] :

If the <AD string> is not correct, enter the correct AUTODIAL command string.
If the <AD string> is correct simple type <cr> to retain it.
This string is a function of the equiptment installed in USA, please consult
your RATIONAL Technical Representative for the proper data.

For model 300C/300S processors only, if X.25 PAD is specified, the PAD is to
be connected to the external modem connector at the base of the card cage.
If internal modem is specified, the external modem port is available for use
as environment port 16. Use cable 125-1808-001 or equivalent to connect
terminal. In this mode, hardware flow control is always enabled.

When all questions have been answered the INITIOA program will store the
new data and terminate.
