1 SCOPE
This document describes the 40…0e…o…0f…C environmental test
performed on the Protocol Converter (PC) Processor
Units (PU), to verify compliance with the High Ambient
Temperature (HAT) requirements on the PC project.
The Test Procedure consists of a LTU input-,output-
and compare test, applied to one LTU at the time. In
this way both the CPU/SCM, RAM and LTU are in use during
the test execution.
The Test Report is a part of the Test Procedure. The
test results are recorded in this document.
In addition to the HAT Test, the PUs goes through a
burn-in period, as the Unit Under Test (UUT) serves
as PC S/W Test System during the test period.
Together with the corresponding PDI/LOG's, this document
constitutes the documentation of the H/W Pretest Activities

The purpose of this test is to verify the ability of
a PC to operate in 40…0e…o…0f…C ambient temperature.

2.2 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲F̲u̲n̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
The Test System are configured with "LTU ̲DRIVER" to
support LTU-line communication. The "address 16" LTU
in the UUT are booted and ready for transmission at
9600 Baud.
The PC LTU ̲TEST programme makes the LTUs send out characters
on channel 3 (J4) and, by means of a loop-back in the
cable, recieve these characters again.
The data sent is the alphabet A thru Z repeating itself
indefinitely. This will be shown on the monitoring
VDU.
Each character recieved by the LTU is compared to the
expected character, and any deviation is counted in
the error counter. See Figure 2.2-1.
The "Time Function" is set at the start of the test,
and read out together with the error-counter content
at the end of the test. See section 4.

3 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲P̲L̲A̲N̲
To produce a valid HAT test, each UUT is situated with
power on in a PC at 40…0e…o…0f…C for a period of at least 96
hours. 48 hours idle and 48 hours operational.
During this period the equipment-temperature will settle
and any initial-errors will be detected due to PC S/W
Test operations.
During the operational part of the Test Period, the
PC LTU ̲TEST is executed on both LTUs in the UUT.
4 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲P̲R̲O̲C̲E̲D̲U̲R̲E̲
Since the equipment is used as PC S/W Test System,
it is assumed that an operational condition excists
(Development System booted). Close down the PC S/W
Test System.
The H/W, now being PC LTU ̲TEST System, are operated
from the PC maintenance-VDU.
