HI,

I have been discussing with Philippe Studer about the current state of macrat.
He made me a demo, it was possible to log into a rational machine using
telnet and to perform basic operations. He saw me early version of the
editors that will make it possible to customize macrat (this will be much
better than parsing text files as in RWI). The user will be able to modify
interactively the menu bar and the mouse operations. Profiles will be
saved in a file loaded a startup and modified by the editors.

He has spent the last 2 weeks (almost full time) at :

_ understand the existing code

_ remove the XVT dependencies (XVT is a choice I made when I started
the macrat project because I wanted to build a product which did
not depend on the windowing system, but Philippe prefers to build
a mac only application, and this is ok with me)

_ rewrite the telnet connection on top of mac tcp

Philippe is sure that he can do the work, but additional time is needed,
and we have established a schedule.

26 june - 1 july: Fine tuning the terminal emulator.

 1 july - 15 july: Menu + keybinding + mouse editor implementation

15 july - 30 july: integration + tests + documentation

Productizing macrat will be something like 1 to 1.5 man month effort.

I will be on vacation from july the 1st to july 30th. What do we do with
the SOW document ? I showed it to Philippe.
